Brian Campanotti

Archive Transformation Visionary

Brian is recognized as a successful entrepreneur, thought leader, published author and innovator in large-scale unstructured data storage, archive and preservation — helping global content owners, producers and custodians develop and execute long-term strategies for massive-scale digital archive, protection and preservation.

Prior to Cloudfirst, he was CTO at Front Porch Digital (now Telestream), instrumental in its emergence as a global leader in digital archive, and helped guide the company through its acquisition by Oracle in 2014. Before that he founded Masstech, another leading digital archive provider, and began his career as a Project Engineer at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Toronto.

He was a primary inventor of the SMPTE Archive eXchange Format (AXF) standard and spearheaded its adoption as an ISO/IEC standard. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
