For more than a century, the NHL has preserved the defining moments of professional hockey — historic games, legendary players, iconic venues. By the time this transformation began, the league was managing roughly 15 petabytes of content on an on-premises proprietary tape archive, tightly integrated with an aging MAM. Still supporting daily production, the platform introduced growing operational risk and limited flexibility for future innovation.

Trece (13TV), part of COPE Group, had moved archive content to AWS but stayed dependent on the legacy DIVA platform to access it. When they moved to decommission it, that system had become the gatekeeper to their own assets. Cloudfirst removed the proprietary dependency and restored direct access — without disruption.
